Halloween Bonfire Night!

First Luton leaders organised a spooktacular Halloween Bonfire night on Nov 2nd for the whole group.

The children were welcomed to the Hoo by walking through the cob webbed graveyard and then made ghost glow in the dark lanterns whilst waiting for all the Halloween  fancy dressed Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to arrive.

4 scary bases kept the host of vampires, mummies, ghosts and even a ‘taxman’ entertained. The troop were kept busy bobbing for apples, flour mining for marshmall

ows, enjoying a ghoulish jelly dive, playing pin the ‘boo’ on the ghost, partaking in  a scary skeleton relay and designing a mummy competition. They even had time to decorate their own wax candles to light their way home.

Fed with handmade marshmallow s’mores, Barry’s special soup and Halloween hotdogs the troop were led in song around the campfire… Now what does make a Hippopotamus smile?!

When asked if they’d had fun the answer was an ear piercing cry of ‘yesssssss!’

See you same time next year then……!
